Background story:
"I was born in Hull, England. There's nothing much to do there so I passed the time drawing. I used to really like trying to draw my favorite cartoon characters, like Garfield. Eventually I made it to University and did a degree in Animation. During this time I was interested in developing my own style, so I did a bit of research and filled a sketch book full of drawings detailing different ways of drawing noses, eyes, hands etc. Then I just mixed the ones I liked and took it from there.
Now I've made it to London and I'm working as graphic & digital designer at Junior level. Unfortunately it's really hard balancing a full time job and trying to do drawings. I've not been commissioned for my drawing skills yet, but I'm here doing this interview because my website took off and people like my drawings. That's cool, I like the fact I just draw for fun and people dig it.
Maybe I just don't have that commercial vibe going on in my drawings. But yeah one day I'd like to do drawings all day."
Future dream:
"To live in an environmentally friendly house with a swimming pool, deep in a forest somewhere near to a beach in a warm, sunny, relaxing country where it snows a lot."
Favorite artist:
"Miroslav Sasek and all the unknown artists of the 60's & 70's who did all the cool cartoon drawings in random books & brochures."
Message to young artists:
"Somebody once asked me 'Who is your favorite Classical composer?", I answered "Van Gogh!'"
